#5 NASCAR announces ten year deal with Las Vegas Motor Speedway

NASCAR finalized their experimental 2021 schedule, and while a handful of tracks ended up getting cut from the season, Las Vegas Motor Speedway was not one of them. In fact, NASCAR just signed a deal with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority that will allow their Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series to race at the Motor Speedway two times a year for the next decade.

“The LVCVA has been in partnership in various ways with our speedway since LVMS opened in 1996, and we’re thrilled to continue that relationship,” Las Vegas Motor Speedway president Chris Powell said in a release. “If it weren’t for the LVCVA, we likely wouldn’t have two NASCAR Cup Series races in Las Vegas."

#4 NHL commisioner considering mini bubbles for 2021 season

The NHL, like many other sports, was brought to a screeching halt this season after the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world and it could still end up being a factor in 2021. That’s why NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman, is considering rotating bubbles, a shortened schedule, and other crucial measures to ensure that everyone is safe.

Fortunately for NHL players, the commissioner claims the league will not move forward unless people feel it is safe to do so. The commissioner even promised not to trap them in a bubble again for the entire season.

"You'll play for 10 to 12 days," Bettman said in a virtual panel discussion during the 2020 Paley International Council Summit. "You'll play a bunch of games without traveling. You'll go back, go home for a week, be with your family.

#3 Henry Ruggs III working on route running

Henry Ruggs III was drafted to the Las Raiders during the offseason and has already had a profound impact on the team. That's evident by Ruggs’ ten receptions so far this season and by an average of 22 yards a play. Of course, he has missed out on two big catches that would have counted for touchdowns, but he is reportedly working on that.

According to sources familiar with the situation, Ruggs III is currently working on his route running to be a better asset to the team. Hopefully, the practice will help the rookie receiver.

“We love the speed factor, it’s something you can’t coach. But the route running and consistency that we want to see him bring to the game,” said offensive coordinator Greg Olson this week.

#2 Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr to test NASCAR's 2022 prototype during offseason

NASCAR officials are itching to switch to their new 2022 prototype car, but there's still a lot of testing to do. The next step of preparing the futuristic car for its inaugural season is a test session at Charlotte Motor Speedway that will feature both Martin True Jr andLas Vegas native Kurt Busch of the Cup Series.

The two drivers will participate in two test sessions next week on Monday and Wednesday.

#1 Jon Gruden not open to trading Gabe Jackson

#1 Jon Gruden not open to trading Gabe Jackson

Raiders fans are always criticizing their favorite team, and while some of the criticism is valid, a lot of it is just hot air. For example, coach Gruden was asked about the idea of trading Gabe Jackson to another team and absolutely assured everyone that he wouldn’t give Jackson up for anything.

Gruden even went on to claim that Jackson is one of the best guards in the entire league and is a critical part of the team. Gruden believes he has the right players in place but just doesn't have them together at the right moment.

It has to do with Covid-19 restrictions, injuries, and tough opponents. These factors combined mean that the O-line has very rarely been on the field together. The team hasn’t been able to show its full potential yet.
